US officials said they have discovered the longest smuggling tunnel ever seen, on the border with Mexico.
With a length of 1,313 meters, the tunnel has an elevator, a drainage and ventilation system and a high voltage electric cable.
The tunnel connects an industrial area in Tijuana, Mexico with the San Diego area of California.
Authorities have so far not arrested anyone or found drugs.
They have not said who could hide behind the tunnel.
But the Mexican cartel Sinaloa, described by the US government as one of the largest drug trafficking organizations in the world, operates in the area, according to REL.
