Turkish army enters Libya

Turkey has begun sending troops to Libya to support the internationally recognized government in Tripoli, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said today.

Speaking in Ankara, Erdogan added that Turkey will continue to use all diplomatic and military means to ensure stability in the country's south, including Libya.

Erdogan will meet with leaders of Germany, Russia, Britain and Italy on Sunday to discuss the conflict.

He also said that Turkey would begin allowing exploration and drilling in the eastern Mediterranean in 2020, in line with a maritime agreement with Libya.

The Turkish president also said that the Turkish ship 'Oruk Reis' will launch seismic activities in the region.
